Bid live online on our website. Add objects to your watch list and keep track of when the lots come up for sale.
Bidding in absentia
Place a written pre-bid online or offline and we will bid on your behalf during the auction.
Telephone bidding
We can call you during the auction so that you can bid. You can bid in several languages.
Third-party partners
Bid live on lot-tissimo, The Saleroom, Invaluable or Drouot digital. Surcharges of 3-5% may apply.
Online store
In our online store you can purchase items from the free sale/post-sale immediately without having to wait for an auction.

Where can I see the lots in advance?
In our auction house at Mittelweg 162 in Hamburg Rotherbaum, the preview will take place one week before the auction, where you will have the opportunity to view and inspect the items in detail.
We will also be happy to send you detailed photos of the lots by email on request.

By when do I have to collect my auctioned items?
Please collect the auctioned goods no later than 10 working days after the auction. Our storage capacities are limited – if the goods are not collected within this period, they must be stored by a forwarding agent at the buyer’s expense. Should you require assistance in collecting the auctioned items, we will be happy to arrange a haulier or forwarding agent – please contact us!

Do I have to pay VAT as a foreign customer?
As VAT is only levied on the commission and thus on a domestic service, it is not refundable for foreign bidders.

Does the right of cancellation apply to auctions?
These are public auctions within the meaning of § 383 para. 3 BGB. There is no right of cancellation or return after acceptance of the bid (cf. § 474 BGB).

What is resale right? What does FR mean?
For original works of fine art and photography by living artists or by artists who died less than 70 years ago that are subject to resale rights (marked FR in the catalogue), an additional resale right remuneration in the amount of the remuneration specified in § 26 para. 2 UrhG, currently as follows:
4 % for the portion of the sale proceeds from EUR 400.00 up to EUR 50,000, a further 3 per cent for the portion of the sale proceeds from EUR 50,000.01 to EUR 200,000, a further 1 per cent for the portion of the sale proceeds from EUR 200,000.01 to EUR 350,000, a further 0.5 per cent for the portion of the sale proceeds from EUR 350,000.01 to EUR 500,000 and a further 0.25 per cent for the portion of the sale proceeds over EUR 500,000.
The total amount of the resale royalty from a resale shall not exceed EUR 12,500.5.6 Export deliveries to EU countries are exempt from VAT upon presentation of the VAT number. Export deliveries to third countries (outside the EU) are exempt from VAT; if the auctioned items are exported by the buyer, the VAT will be refunded to the buyer as soon as the Auctioneer receives proof of export.

How does telephone bidding work?
Telephone bids are possible from a starting price of € 100.00. Bidding the starting price is a prerequisite for telephone bidding. Please send us your registration as a telephone bidder in writing (by email, fax or post) at least 24 hours before the start of the auction. You will receive a confirmation of your registration by e-mail. The auction house assumes no liability for the establishment of a telephone connection.

Can I bid on site on the day of the auction?
Unfortunately not. The auctions now only take place online or by telephone (after you have registered for them).

How can you pay?
We prefer a bank transfer to our bank account, or payment on site by EC card.
